Part One: Getting Your Story Started.
You first need a story title, and an author or pen name.
You must also have your image in place before you can even upload the 1st episode.
Then you require categories and tags necessary to entice potential readers.
Finally, You Can Upload Your Episode Manuscript.
Of course, you can also type it directly into Kindle Vella too, but if you want to keep a copy for yourself, I would suggest doing it in Microsoft Word or a Word Processing software of your choice. I use Libre Office, but it needs to be loaded in MS Word Doc or Docx format.
Here is an example of what Kindle Vella offers to write directly into Kindle Vella. (below)
As I mentioned, I prefer a Word document. There is a disclaimer that if you change anything, you might not be able to retain what you wrote. It is always important to have a back-up copy. I might be wrong on how I am reading things, but I would rather be safe than sorry.
Now, My First Story, Episode #1 Is Under Review, and Is Awaiting Approval.
I Will Be Writing About the Final Results Soon
The next post I write about my initial foray into Kindle Vella will hopefully be positive. It has definitely been a learning experience for sure, and something that I do not regret. I think that all of you aspiring authors might wish to take a shot at this.
Remember, that the first three episodes are offered for free to garner interest from your potential readers. After that, if they are still interested in your story, then they will have to buy tokens to unlock further episodes. That is when you will start making money. I’m not sure about the money factor, but when I learn that, I will post about it, as well.
If nothing else, I believe that Kindle Vella is worth a shot.
Until the next time, KEEP WRITING!
