Do you have a writing routine figured out?

If you do, then do you perform that routine consistently?

The only way that any of us will get our literary works out there for readers to enjoy is to write that work, edit it (carefully, but not too many times), and get it out there!

If you don’t feel like you have the aptitude or patience to write, then you could also consider using a ghostwriter. I am not too familiar with that, because I have the need to write my own work, but I do know that this works for a great many successful authors.

I have a couple of routines that I employ when writing my books, which one I use depneds upon weather it is a stand-alone novel or a book in my upcoming sequel series to my Bermuda’s Secret Series.

Here are a couple of the routines that I have either tried or employed:

  • Using legal pads or spiral notebooks and a pen to write my manuscripts. (This is how I wrote my first series)
    • I then transcribed it all into a word document.
  • Writing daily in a word document on my computer when thoughts come to mind of new material to add to the current manuscript. (I currently have one of these that is now 84 pages long and growing daily.)
  • I am also going to employ some “talk to text” software for the very first book I wrote at a young age which was the inspiration for my Bermuda’s Secret series.

There are likely several more methods I might try too! You can do the exact same thing, and no matter which method you employ, make sure you remain consistent with your content. If you don’t, then you wil never get your work out there!

You don’t have to have a set time limit or amount of words for writing, but you do need to incorporate any amount you write into your daily routine!

I know this for a fact because, early on, I was guilty of missing several days at a time, and it will certainly snuff out your progress. In fact, I wasted 25 years between my first book and all of the others that I have since written.

I cannot have any regrets, but it often makes me wonder how much I could have accomplished if I had remained consistent! Let that sink in for a moment.

Just establish a routine that works for you and then firmly establish it somewhere in your daily routine!

When you are able to do this, it will become a habit! Don’t waste any more time.

Happy writing! Be a success!
