The Bermuda’s Secret Series

Volume 1: Exodus

Vol. 1 Exodus

This is the volume that starts it all off!

It took me quite a while to come up with the cover art for these books! At first, I had hand drawn (on the old-style Microsoft Paint program), and I got thorough enjoyment from that. In the end, the covers, though I liked them, looked “elementary” in nature.

Here is essentially, what this crucial first volume covers:

American Civil War Era Historical Science Fiction. This story begins in 1865, at the end of the American Civil War when a large group of Confederate refugees cast off from Florida–bound for Cuba where they are supposed to rendezvous with other Southern sympathizers to set off in search of a new land. They are fleeing a power-hungry victorious Union war machine which has run amok and is led by a mad General that pursues them relentlessly as they try to get to Cuba. They are forced to fight for survival from their pursuers –in a series of naval skirmishes which eventually lead to a very interesting naval battle, and against many other hardships–bad weather and supply shortages, among other things. Through all this, the refugees face long odds in ever reaching Cuba, and little do they know that they might never reach it. This first volume introduces some of the major players in the story, and sets the foundation for many more characters and things to come as the series progresses. Aside from harrowing pursuits, an interesting naval battle, and other hardships, there is a unique segue into the second volume–hold onto your seats as we go on a fantastical voyage to a place no one has ever been before!

I probably re-wrote this blurb more than a few times, and this was what I was finally satisfied with. For some readers, this might seem a bit boring, since a good portion of the book is set at sea, but, it is critical in many ways, because if it is skipped, it will leave you wondering who all these characters first introduced are! It also sets the stage for things to come in the series too!

It is also probably one of the most–if not THE most–inexpensive book in the series.
