The Alternate Novel-sized Bermuda’s Secret Series

This was an alternate format for the series that I tried early on.

The first volume in the series was simply called Bermuda’s Secret, and the cover was simple enough.

Weirdly, though the cover was juvenile, and it garnered, at that time my first and only review, which was very poor, but, ironically, it had generated the most sales.

Rather than allow that first organic review to deter me, it motivated me even more to write–harder and alot more.

This particular cover and volume–which encompassed the first three books as chapters in the current 15-volume series–is the only one that was like this. It was definitely unique!

Each “chapter” had the cover art of the original series–the one I ultimately went with–and the books each sold for $7.99 at that time.

I can’t remember if I even completed the series, but I think there were five additional volumes including the first one, making six total volumes before I reveresed course and went back to my original concept for what the series would look like.

It was then that I finished out the series in the smaller form. The prices were also a lot less. I have considered resurrecting this larger book series, but am still on the fence about it.

The thumbnails for the other books in that series are below. All of those books are still in draft on my Kindle bookshelf. That is one of the cool things that you can do. You can unpublish at any time, and they remain there so you can edit, add too, and then republish or you can simply just republish!

There is a lot of versatility there!

The thumbnails for each of those books are below:

Book 2: Teramissian Confederation

The blurb for this book at the time was:

It is late 1865, and the year 1866 is around the corner.  The discovery and naming of a new Confederate Homeland, and the subsequent carving out of a new nation begins, resulting in the Teramissian Confederation being established.  Twenty years after it’s formation, the Teramissian Confederation’s burgeoning new generation, alongside its founding generation, must face a vile new threat of unknown origin to their new-found freedom.  Even with all the growing pains of their new nation and the slow assimilation with the other inhabitants of the island they were led to, the Confederates unfortunately discover there is another specter which followed them from their old word…the possibility of WAR!

Book 3: Rukaanian Empire

The official blurb for this book was:

The Year is 1886 and the threat which the Teramissian Confederation  sent its naval forces into Northern waters to investigate turned out to be very real and has now turned into an all-out shooting war, endangering the inhabitants of the entire island.  The Teramissian Confederation contingent under the command of Admiral Robert Hill has joined forces with some Unionists, and with the help of Tarvan Militiamen, are making a last stand for freedom in the Northwest Quadrant of Teramis Island.  Hill is a no-nonsense, take-charge officer who allies himself with the Northern Unionists and Tarvan Militiamen in a desperate fight to drive the insidious Rukaanian invaders from their island!  With his own government dead-locked on how to proceed, Hill is the one who takes the decisive action required to hopefully end the war quickly before the entire island of Teramis falls to the bloodthirsty Rukaanians.  They are an alien race who seem to be trapped in the same dimension and time as all the other inhabitants of the island.  When Admiral Hill and the rest of the Confederates landed on the island over twenty years before, they felt that they had been led to the promised land.  With all the new troubles, now Hill isn’t so sure!

Book 4: Warfare on the Island

The official blurb for this book at the time is as follows:

It’s late 1887, and while the various island governments are dead-locked about declaring war on the Rukaanian Empire that blatantly threatens the entire Island of Teramis with total annihilation, the tentative alliance in the Northwest Quadrant under the de facto command of Admiral Robert Hill of the Teramissian Confederation must continue in their current preparations to defend against an expected third Rukaanian attack.  With the Tarvan winter closing in, there is much to do in the embattled Northwest Quadrant before the first snows fall.  Back in the TC on the Southern side of the island, a few wives of the officers in the North are starting talk about a movement to bring awareness to the Confederation population about the clandestine war in the North which their government has taken great pains to conceal from them.  There’s a secret reason for the delay in a war declaration from the largest of the Southern countries, but in the Tarvan Territory, the primary reason for a delay for their own declaration of war is unclear.  One thing is for certain.  Admiral Hill knows that he must shoulder the burden of prosecuting the unrecognized war raging in the North with very little help from either government for the island to even have a small chance of surviving!

Book 5: Desperate Defense

The official blurb for this book at the time is as follows:

Nearing the end of 1887, the brutal Tarvan winter is not quite half-way through and the tentative alliance of the Unionists, Tarvan Militias, and the Teramissian Confederates under the command of Admiral Robert Hill has been rapidly expanding their defenses around the Unionist settlement of N-Town after the route of the Rukaanian forces following their second failed siege attempt to dislodge the stubborn N-Town defenders.  In an unprecedented move, Hill had devised an ingenious plan to annex the former battlefield extending all the way to the banks of the Marathon river where they had originally made landfall on the Northern side of Teramis Island.  Assisted by two battalions of Tarvan militiamen, the Teramissian Confederates had begun hurriedly constructing a large settlement expanding from the banks of the river all the way to stockade of N-town, and extending east to the edge of the Eastern woods.  Admiral Hill then boldly claimed the new settlement as a sovereign protectorate of the Teramissian Confederation and promptly named it Marathon after the river whose banks it sprang up on.  His hope was that claiming the settlement as a colony of the Confederation would beholden their government to issue an official declaration of war on the Rukaanian Empire to protect their new territory on the northern side of the island from a possible renewed Rukaanian attack.  The numbers of defenders in the Northwest Quadrant continued to grow steadily, bolstered by a surprising addition of a formidable Warrior-class Aviary battalion which had broken ranks from the Tarvan government to join forces with the brave defenders in the north. The hoped-for relief from the severe blizzard mercilessly pelting the region was short-lived; however.  Renegade Rukaanian commander Darnoc Retep, in charge of the remaining Rukaanian forces still on the island appeared to be marching the largest siege force yet to the Northwest Quadrant in the middle of the severe storm!  His objective was to destroy all the defenders in the Northwest Quadrant once and for all!  On the home front–the Southern side of Teramis Island–several new protest movements seemed to be attempting to raise an opposition to the TCGC’s disinformation tactics concerning the clandestine war raging on the Northern side of the island.  The women folk in the Tarvan Territory and the TC are enjoying having some of their men back from the embattled areas while they are snowed-in.  Elsewhere on the mysterious Rukaanian mainland located across the Northern channel, extensive preparations are being made by Malakowish to field and lead an extremely large new invasion force to attack the Northern side of Teramis island sometime in the New year.  Two lost flotillas of ships from the old country have somehow entered the dimension through time wrinkles.  With all this in play, things are heating up for a decisive show-down, unless fate intervenes!

Book 6: Rukaanian Resurgence

The official blurb for this book at the time was as follows:

After Malakowish left the Island of Teramis in shame to request reinforcements to go back and subdue the pesky island once and for all, renegade Rukaanian Commander Darnoc Retep marshaled most of the remaining Rukaanian forces on the island together for one last major siege of the Northwest Quadrant.  On the Rukaanian mainland, aside from the murder and mayhem Malakowish was causing, the Rukaanian military-run government spared his life and gave him a new directive to lead the largest Rukaanian force ever assembled back to the island to secure the critical resources for the mother ship to get off the infernal planet and out of the primitive time dimension they had been stuck in for far too long!  Despite Malakowish’s arrogance, he knew that such a task wouldn’t be easy.  It would be a fight to the death against the Alliance–which was fine with him–as long as those deaths were theirs!  He had much to prepare for before he would lead the grand assault that would either skyrocket him into history as the greatest Rukaanian commander ever…or cost him his life!

As you can plainly see, they essentially combine all the books of the orginal Bermuda’s Secret Series which is currently still live on Amazon Kindle and costs a lot less.

There are so many things that you can do with Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. It is definitely worth your while to check things out there!

Until next time, my friends!
